Community Eats

A Celebration of the recipes and cooking styles of neighborhood, family and personal gatherings.

From family fun times to picnics to, as we like, neighborhood happy hours, people have developed interesting traditions of bringing and sharing special dishes to eat. Sometimes these dishes are twists on old favorites. Othertimes they are new, wild, exotic ideas or--more recently it seems anyway--someone's chance to show off a flavor that at least reminds them of a different or unique world culture.

The purpose of the idea behind Community Eats is to capture some of these ideas and, for the sake of convenience and replicability, to convert these ideas into recipes that others can share.

ALMOST AS GOOD AS EATING

To us--avid foodies--watching good stuff made on television can be nearly as exciting as doing it ourselves. Not to mention that we can actually focus more on the wine we are drinking when we don't have to continuously put down our knife or wash our hands.

For this reason--and because we have it available, for reasons we'll share in the future--we have posted this Quick Time movie for you, capturing me (and my partner Erick, on camera) introducing the concept.
